Picture book of the plate, a bowl of rice's legendary origins

Plate is press and publication of China children's picture book published by the Head Office of the new works, history tells the legend of a bowl of rice. I believe they do as a farmer painting a picture book. But what to draw, how to draw has been bothering me all of a sudden. Green reading: listening to explain your edit, your picture book creation has always been prepared for the avalanche-like, can you share with us about the creative process?

Yu Hong is: because I originally thought this book was made into a popular science of humanity books, want to change people's impression of science books are cold hard knowledge, at the same time I also wanted to show the country simple, emotional side. So for the growth in the city of rice-everything was so strange for me, and for popular science books, the "accuracy" is actually more important than artistic. So I decided to go to village fields field trips, I believe I saw it firsthand all the content will make this book more vivid and accurate. Grown due to the mingling of mountains of single season rice, so the rice growing cycle is very long, early footage collection is rather time-consuming. In order to be able better to collect material, local farmers in the family of five stayed for a long time, also bought a telephoto and macro lenses for a rainy day. Green reading: in your opinion, the feelings of the people and their land today are alienated? How to regain that feeling?

Yu Hong is: precisely because of living in a big city, so deeply felt when food is no longer a problem of food and clothing today, they begin to demand more for organic products. Decades ago, not now, that of agricultural products we eat "organic food"? When they began the pursuit of efficiency, which takes a long time to grow natural things are becoming precious and expensive, and people of rural life also added a forward, may all of this phenomenon is not exactly prove that we leave this heart and land for too long. And I think the best way to regain that feeling is to educate our next generation, and future generations of children, let them know food was hard won, hands food should cherish, cherish. Green reading: who knows Chinese food, grain the old-fashioned way, is the first Chinese poem of most of the children in the back. After your painting, do you have a new understanding of this poem?

Yu Hong is: after 1.5 years of collecting folk songs and material collected, my understanding of this poem has a lot deeper. Compared to the wheat, corn, soybeans, rice planting operations, field management, production and processing but is much more complex and is worried about. Once I had a question, since the rice is too hard why I should plant it eats it? Later study discovered that a seed planted in rice, can be harvested in autumn hundreds, compared to the other staple crops, rice output is quite considerable. This does not prove one thing: put as much sweat as much. And rice is likely to have a variety of disease, production is also closely related to the favorable climatic and geographical conditions of the year. Might say that rice high-yielding, really needs to adapt to multiple factors such as heaven, Earth, people, this process is not only hard work, there are many factors beyond their control, to get a grain of rice can be said to be really hard. Although rice light flavor, not exactly so as to bring out the food's delicious. Author Yu Hong is also the author of the book of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai (CITIC press), 12 traditional festival--the Lantern Festival in China (Guizhou people's publishing house), as Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai was selected for the Beijing Youth Daily "new artist of the year 2015 green reading."

Dinner: every child should have a rice

My childhood was spent in a small city in Shanxi province.

I often think that children's lives should not be this way, their life should not be phones, computers, cloud athletic wrap; every child should have the opportunity to feel the joy of growth, every child should have access to the natural world window, each child should have a their own rice and wheat. The meal is a key to the door, let the children out of the city's barriers, to inhale the scent of nature, to feel the pulse of the natural, to go back to being a part of nature. The plate is a rhythmic poem, we feel it in the rice growing cycle is important. I can remember starting annual Qing Ming can hear grandmother repeatedly say, "qingming melon". Solar terms is not just a simple noun, but a vivid beacon. When to sow and when to work, when to harvest, were hidden among the 24 words. Seeded of the season, missed, missed the best time of the year. From corner of the table, we can find the missing coins, but we cannot get back to those flowing from the fingers of time. Throttle not only makes us feel in a dull day time power forward, and it will make our lives more rhythm.

The dinner is a Grand Symphony of life, in which we can feel the greatness of the life process. Here "the arduous task of grain" and not just because rice farmers are soaked in sweat and embodies the legend of rice grain of life itself. From a small seed, Lotus rice seedlings, and the wind dancing leaves of rice plants, to the heavy lift head of rice seed-heads. All this from a seed, it brings us magical life show!
